Office outfit inspiration

If you’re making a career change, taking your first steps in the world of work, or are just looking for a little reassurance, kay me stylists have put together our selection of suggested looks for different offices.

Navigating the loosely-defined world of women’s workwear can feel like an obstacle course itself, however kay me is designed with busy women in mind. Since day one, kay me founder Junko Kemi has sought to create practical and stylish clothing for women at work and beyond, combining easy-care fabrics with classic styles and expert Japanese craftsmanship.

Take a look at our selection below, and put your best foot forward!

The corporate office – dark colors vs pastels

There’s nothing more fitting for a corporate office than a classic matching suit – choose from our skirts and solid-color dresses paired with bolero jackets, and our tailored jackets in standard and crop lengths.

If you’re in a position to push the boundaries a little, then for spring and summer lighten your look with our greige (gray-beige) and suit set up that unites beautiful tailoring with a softer shade.

The business casual office – prints vs plain colors

Our ‘docking’ dresses, a combination of contrasting skirt and top in one, are a great choice for that most difficult of dress codes, business casual. Dress them up with a matching jacket, add interest with a striking color jacket, or add more casual elements with our cardigans in long and short lengths.

For a different look, try playing on the nature of the docking dress with our printed and solid color versions.

The creative office – color vs monotone

We’re certainly not ones to shy away from a print here at the kay me atelier in Tokyo, and a creative office, or one with a more relaxed clothing policy can be a chance to explore more sartorial options.

For those looking to ease into prints and patterns, we recommend our monotone prints in classics such as  stripes, or for even more inspiration explore our categories!
